Ancal "...distributes the Ocean Optics spectrometers (which use our C-Spec software for color calculations) and the Cronin-Zeiss spectrometers. We also have white reflectance standards and color reflectance standards." Dorothy Wood.
Analytical Spectral Devices. "Manufacturer of portable optical spectrometers and spectroradiometers, widely used for the measurement of spectral energy distributions of light sources and the reflectance of materials under ambient illumination. Autoelrepho spectroreflectometer is designed for controlling the optical properties of pulp or paper products, including those containing fluorescent whitening agents. The instrument conforms to CIE and ISO standards, attempting to correlate with human eye and on-line sensors of the paper machine.
BYK-Gardner. No listing of color instrument suppliers would be complete without mentioning this venerable supplier. Gardner pioneered the business, was the first instrument I met some 40 years ago... (alas, it was rather color blind...) and BYK (pronounced 'bik'?) is a formidable European company.

Includes Windows software that displays spectral, color, and color difference data. We also provide optical fibers and light sources for spectroscopy, color and appearance, and process control; for measurements of reflectance, transmittance, absorbance and emission." The ColorMouse by ColorSavvy is another small spectro designed specifically for DTP. Features 61 point reflectance and radiance spectra, other interesting features.
Color-Tec " ...supplies low cost LED based portable, bench-top and on-line instruments with ColorSoft Windows software. We also offer instrument protocol for most currently supplied color instruments in our Advance Formulation ColorSoft package. Colortron [Defunct link... out of manufacture?] This inexpensive spectro is now available as an accessory for either Mac's or PC's. About the size of a small pair of binoculars, I've even driven one with my laptop! Coloring members have discussed this interesting machine here.

Lovibond Reflectance Colorimeter. "The Tintometer Ltd. manufactures the Lovibond range of color measuring instruments and reference materials, which are used throughout industry to ensure products and raw materials meet color specifications. The Colour Laboratory offers a color analysis service that is available on a test-by-test basis or as an outsource facility.

Opticolor "offers several process color control systems for automated and on-line color inspection. We offer high speed UV VIS NIR spectrophotometers for color and pattern recognition, print registration, automatic shade sorting and for automated batch process end-point controls. Varian-Cary spectrophotometers. "I've just put up information about our range of UV-Vis spectrometers at our Web site. We have a range of integrating spheres (including Labsphere), fibre optic probes etc, as well as rather good colour calculation software. The Cary spectrophotometer is used extensively for colour measurement, and is often much cheaper than dedicated colour instruments (and you can use it for other things!)" By Michelle Archard.
X-Rite started with the first small portable spectro, is now a major factor in colorimetry. They provide a large variety of instruments: sphere, 0/45 degree, non-contact, dot measuring and radiometers. Spheres are machined from a polymer that is much more sturdy than the typical coatings. Their newest formulation - QC software uses the Intenet to communicate between instruments in various locations. A subsidiary company is the venerable Labsphere: provider of integrating spheres, diffuse reflectance materials, coatings, systems and reflectance standards.
